Purple Day!

Today was Purple Day!
We had so much fun pointing to our purple clothing and purple items.
Many children have purple as a favorite color and so we sang:
"I love purple, I love purple,
Flowers are purple, grapes are purple,
Plums are purple, the playdough is purple,
I love purple, purple, purple, purple!"

Other happenings:
Kayle is acting as the princess swimming in the water.

Taking care of Baby Moshe.

Ella made a Matzah.

Sender presses a peice of purple gauze into the playdough.

And looks carefully to see the impression it left.

Marnie made a telescope.  Ella asks to have a look through it.

Baby Moshe

We have been acting out the story of Baby Moshe.
Mommy Yocheved didn't want her cute baby Moshe to be a slave for King Pharoah.

So she put him in a basket in the River Nile.

Big sister Miriam, was watching little baby Moshe.

Princess Batya goes for a swim in the river, and finds baby Moshe crying.

Big sister Miriam takes the baby back to his Mommy.

Baby Moshe grows up to be Moshe Rabbeinu, who takes the Jewish people out of Mitzrayim.

Other happenings:
The children are practicing pouring the four cups.  They are learning to control the amount of water being poured from the jug, which is excellent for improving hand eye coordination.

WHAT COLOR IS THE GRAPE JUICE?
The children come up with purple, blue and red.
We pour some grape juice out and notice that it is indeed a dark red.
Morah attempts to copy the color for our printmaking art.

Hannah paints the bubble wrap.

Kayle stamps the bubble wrap on her page to create an interesting effect.

Peek into our Day

Peek into our Day:

As a follow on activity from corkscrew stamping, Morah brought real stamps into the classroom.
The children learn the two step process of stamping.

Marnie helps wipe the table.

Today we make new playdough!  It's purple!
Ella helps mix the ingrediants.

The children enjoy the soft smooth texture.

Marnie and Lia on a bike.

We played a match up game with frog pictures.

Frogs are jumping everywhere!

Leaving Mitzrayim

Today we packed our bags and left Mitzrayim (Egypt).
Goodbye Pharoah, we don't want to be your slaves anymore!

Moshe Rabbeinu, dressed up as Sender, leads us out of Mitzryaim.

We come to water and we think how we can cross over it?
We ask Hashem for help, and the water splits.

We use our balancing skills to walk over the water.

Other happenings:
We enjoyed a music and drama lesson with Morah Elena.
The children said their name to introduce themselves....

Sang and tapped...

Danced...

...and went on a train to the zoo to see some wonderful animals!

Kayle stacked the blocks high.

Hannah used strong fingers to stretch the rubber bands around the block, and was able to do so many!

Peek into our Day

Kayle lines the cork screws in a row.

Ella presses the cork screw on her hand as if stamping.

I bring a stamp pad to the table, and the children enjoy stamping the various shapes and textures of the corks.

Marnie feels the textured papers.

Lia rolls her Challah into a ball.

Mendel rolls Challah logs and lines them up.

We hold our nose when we clean the toilets for Shabbat.

Daniella puts grape juice into the shopping cart.

Shabbat Shalom!
