Communication with out words

Often at the beginning in a 2's classroom, although many children have words, while all is still new the classroom will be quite quiet and as the year progresses the vocabulary will emerge. Although there are few words there is much communication! Below are a few examples from today.
Peretz was softly touching Ella's arm. He likes her and wants to show her he notices her.

Peretz wanted a toy Shir was playing with. He followed her quite upset as she found many opportunities to keep it. (She was quite creative at that! :)

Then Peretz thought of an idea. He found another animal to give Shir so he could trade for the one he wanted.

Sara is offering her doll to Eden. Eden moves her body to show she is not interested in playing with it now.

Then Sara went and offered the doll to Ella. Ella also used her body language to convey to Sara she did not want to play with it.

Sara, understanding her friends not being interested in the doll at the moment went to go dance with the doll. It is absolutely fascinating to watch how the Yeladim communicate 'silently.'
