Nature project for fall season

Our school has stared a new program:
Nature Exchange program for preschool in Florida.
Since they don't have a fall season our class would like to
teach them all about fall.

Early this week the kids started to create their project.
On the table was white paper and the children rubbed crayons on the paper.
They were surprised to see the shape of leaves on the paper.

For our project we needed more material.
We decided to go for a walk and collect leaves of
different shapes and colors.

Everyone was excited to find leaves.

We talked about fall. We asked the children
what fall means and Chana said "Leaves."

 We discussed the falling leaves
and how they are different and the similar,

We used the leaves to create a beautiful mobile.
We placed our leaves on contact paper so they would stick.

Here is the finished artwork we are sending to Florida.

Thank you, Nissan, for the yummy fruit.

Celebrating shabbat with friends

Early this morning we came to the class with a
happy feeling because shabbat is here.

Levi and Nissan are setting the table for shabbat,
while Nissan sang shabbat songs:
Pinai shabbat nkabbalah...and said the brachot.

Mayer brought a bag full with leaves and shared with Nissan and all
our class, and we presented them on a nice tray.

We set the mood with dancing, such fun.

It's time for challah!

Everyone was helping to roll the dough
so gently.

We shaped it... and shaped it.

We mustn't forget to decorate the bag we are going to put
our challah in.
They all did wonderful work.

We brought the shabbat in and lit the shabbat candles.

We were so happy so we held hands and sang "shalom aleichem."

Mayer is sitting in the morah chair reading a book.

After welcoming shabbat we relaxed and read.

Shabbat Shalom to everyone!

Weather bottles

Every day we have something new in our classroom.
Today the children came in and saw our sensory table,

We have one half sunny weather and the other half for cloudy weather.
We saw a difference between the color of the sun.
One is yellow and the other one is white and gray.

Dalya and Chana exploring.

We continue to explore the primary colors and sorting them.

Our little helpers preparing our snack.

Renee is exploring the weather table.

The children take care of their babies. They collaborate
to change the diapers. Mayer brought the
pillows while Akiva brought the blankets. Nissan put them all to sleep.

Today we learned about different types of weather.
We made our own weather bottle. The children described today's
weather as sunny with a blue sky and yellow sun.
Everyone helped to make the weather bottle.

The child were fascinated with the project.

Akiva looks at our sunny weather bottle.

We continue to learn to sort and distinguish between colors,
Each child pulled a picture out of a bag and
identified where it belonged on the bulletin board.

We enjoyed our busy day.

Sorting primary colors

This week the children noticed the changing weather.
They feel it has started to get cold.

The kids learned about the weather and checked to
see if it was sunny or cloudy.

We learned about the primary colors:
red, blue and yellow.

We worked to distinguish between primary colors,
the children were sorting different objects.

Chana and Nissan are sorting together.

Akiva and Levi sorting into a pie plate.

Nissan says, look at me. "A house" .

Dalya, Chana and Levi are sorting fruit on the mat.

At circle we learned what the primary colors are and
we look for items that have the same color.
They pulled an object out of a sack and match it to the right color .

Thanks to  Levi and his family for being the fruit family this week.
We enjoyed it so much.

We would like to welcome Renee who is a new child in our class.
The kids were happy to see a new face.

Say goodbye to chag Sukkot and Simchat Torah

We went looking for a Sukkah.
The children were spying a sukkah here and there.

The kids spy new things in our playground ,

Levi and Chana found a mushroom.
How it get here? They used their hands to
measure the size of the mushroom without touching it.

Akiva, Dalya and Nissan spied a hoop,
They take turns so nicely tossing the ball into the hoop.
Good job!

Today we talked about the holidays , how we enjoyed
dancing with our flag on Simchat Torah.
Everyone was dancing!

We asked the kids if today is
Sukkot?
Simchat Torah?

We realized that the next time we going to build a sukkah
would be NEXT YEAR!

And we said goodbye to our sukkah, schach, lulav and etrog
until next time.

The kids missed their class and spy for new toys.

Chana spied a new veil and she tried it on.

Happy to be back.
