Read it again it S'imchat Torah

 A Wonderful Day!

The children were so creative in their playing,

Mayer and Akiva were making a breakfast.

Akiva was making a basketball hole from playdough.

Nissan made a train track with an engine on the track.

Mayer like the idea and brought more trains to the table.

Chana was being creative.

There so cute playing together and sharing toys.

Chana had another chance to shake the Lulav.
What fun!

At circle we read a new story
"Chugga-chugga choo- choo".

The children listen to the story intentely,
up until the end. Then, you can imagine what happened next...
Mayer said "all done? Again!
Everyone else wanted to hear it again.
After reading the story again, we discussed the
similarity of reading a book we love over and over again,
just like we read the Torah. This is how we celebrate Simchat Torah.

The children enjoyed seeing their Simchat Torah flag.

Dancing with Torahs

Today the children experienced a new technique for painting.
We are doing a different project for
S'imchat Torah.

Mayer is mixing red food coloring.

Levi is mixing the yellow food coloring.

We always appreciate our good helpers!

Akiva was very brave and he puts the card on the
shaving cream the children colored.

Mayer and Levi enjoying dropping the colors.

Binyamin was visiting us with Lulav and Etrog.
Akiva wanted to hold it and say the Brachah.
Of course, we all like to shake it.

We are reading the Torah for Simchat Torah. We opened the Torah we love so much.
We closed it and then we demonstrated to the
children by reading a story we love,
we want to read it over again just like we do on Simchat Torah.

Dancing with the Torah.

Lulav Shake

Sukkah le , Sukkah le....

After we sat in our Sukkah , decorated, and played....
We came back to school happy and very excited to meet our friends.

Mayer is harvesting the fruit

Nissan is painting with green paint "S'chach."

Chana is making an Etrog with glue and yellow paper.

Today Levi's brother Mendel visited us and he brought
something familar to us.
I guess everyone saw it in their Sukkah.
It was the Lulav and  Etrog!
We even smelled the Etrog.

We all make the Bracha on the Lulav.

Nissan smelled the Etrog and shook it, too.

Levi said the Bracha by himself.

Mayer was shaking and turning.

Today we started learning about our next holiday.
After Chag Sukkot is Simchat Torah.

Chana and Levi are dancing with the Torah,

Mayer's family is the fruit family this week,

Thank Mayer for the delicious fruit.

Sukkah decorations

This week the children were busy
using all their senses to learn about Sukkot.

The children worked hard on their Sukkah decoration.
They were excited to use the shiny sequines, beads, glue and paint.
They even saw themselves on the CD. The children
were very creative and extremely engaged in their project.

The children enjoyed painting a box to create a sukkah.
They harvested the schach for the sukkah,
They experienced using their scissors outside.
The children enjoyed practicing their cutting skills.

Wow! After all our hard work, it's time for the
children to sit in their sukkah.

Sorting pictures of different sukkahs.

Enjoy the project the children made.

Thank you to Akiva and his family for
being the Fruit Family this week.

Building sukkahs

Yesterday we learned all about building sukkahs and the harvest time.
The children were very creative and used
different media in building sukkahs.
We learned a new song "This is what we need to build a Sukkah."
Through the song we discovered the sukkah is
built with wood and hammers and nails.

Levi and Akiva were harvesting fruits
and vegetables for Sukkot.

The children experienced a new kind of playdough made of
cornstarch and hair conditioner. It was smooth and smelled good.
The children enjoyed forming balls and creating a sukkah.

Dalya enjoyed playing with the ball-shaped dough.

At circle time the children were
excited to build a lego sukkah.

Akiva created a sukkah with magnatiles.

The children were surprised to see their own picture
and loved hearing the notes from their parents.
