More Purim Drama!

Today we dress up again to enact the Purim story!
Hannah offers to be Queen Esther.

Sender wants to be Queen Esther too, Lia Rabbi Mordechai.

Kayle wants to be Haman.  Later at lunch she mentions, "I don't like Haman."

King Achashverosh, aka Ella, asks his Queen what she wants.  He is shocked to find out that Haman wants to hurt her and her friends.  He tells Haman to go away.

Other happenings:
Noise making provocation.

The children place different parts in a jar and hear the sounds it makes when it shakes.

Princesses in action!

Today we did our silk painting!

The children enjoy watching the colors merge and spread on the silk.

The silks will be displayed at our Art gallery, March 16th.
They came out beautifully!

Ella sorted the crayons and buttons by color.

Sender is cooking necklaces.  "It's hot", he says.

Noise Makers

Today the children experimented with different sounds.
Marnie placed the eggs in the jar and noticed the sound it makes.

Ella loved the loud noise of the stick banging the metal.

Sender listened to the sound of the shaker.

We also added bells to our Gragger:

This is "Princess Lia"!

Purim Drama

Today the children did lots of dressing up!
Here we enact the story of Purim...Queen Esther tells Mordechai to daven to Hashem to potect them from Haman's mean plans.

Next she tell Achashverosh that Haman wants to hurt and her people.
All ends well and the Jewish people are so happy on Purim!

Everyone wants to be Queen Esther!

Thank you Naomi Chinn for the costume donation!
The children love them and perfect timing!

Other happenings:
We learn that when we hear Haman's name we make a lot of noise with a Gragger.

We practise with shakers.  And then talk about making our very own!
The colors chosen are purple and pink.
Painting a twig is not as easy as it looks!
The children did a great job :)

Purim Inspired Play

The Purim Characters are being assimilated into our classroom play.
Theys are taped to blocks and displayed with a magnatile palace.

Marnie takes out the queen and adds to the building.

Kayle rebuilds the palace...

...and places the queen inside.

Ella arranges the blocks

Kayle piles the characters in a tall tower.

Sender piles them.

Ella's magnatile palace.

The children are taking on nurturing roles as mommy with their babies.
Kayle gives her baby a drink.

Ella is feeding.

Diaper changing...

Lia's rainbow Challah.

"I made a circle", says Sender.
