Planting!

Today we planted!

Thank you to Kayle's Grandma for the generous donation of seeds, pots and soil!  

We had so much fun today!

We filled the pot with soil.

The children pushed tiny seeds down under the soil.

Then we watered them.

And took the plants outside for some sun.

Other happenings:

Lia and Ella dancing today at Shabbat Live.

At circle time we did color matching for the fruit and vegetables that the hungry caterpillar ate.

The children learn so much from this activity, including building strong fingers, learning colors and promoting healthy food.

The children enjoyed drama today with Morah Elena.

They danced and froze.  Look at these dramatic poses!

Hannah helps Daniella put on her smock.  Such a great freind!

Peek into our Day

Hannah sorts the beans by color.

At snack time Mendel looks out the window and says, "It's a beautiful day today".

Ella adds, "we can play outside because it's not raining."

The children hold the shapes in pairs today.

Daniella puts her hand over Lia's shoulder.

We hear a "loud noise", the children look out and see the gardener cutting the grass.

The children practice waiting and taking turns with the spray bottles.

We are starting to bring awareness to words.  Ella points to the words as she says 'caterpillar'.

Another skill we are focusing on is sequencing.  We are talking about the order of the story.

 

Kayle and Ella read stories to their babies.

Happy Birthday Kayle

Today Kayle was the birthday girl!

Kayle's mom, grandma and grandpa came to celebrate.

We danced.

Kayle opened her birthday present.

It was a candlestick for Shabbat.  Kayle is excited to light her candlestick for Shabbat.

Kayle gave her friends cupcakes.

and tzedakah.

Other happenings:

We made fresh playdough today!

We made it green!

Sender makes a tiny caterpillar.

Hannah makes one with many eyes.

We enact the hungry caterpillar, noticing his body goes up in the middle.

For the big fat caterpillar, Mendel lies on his back with his hands and feet up.

Caterpillar Fun

Today we had so much caterpillar fun!

Ella strings a caterpillar through a leaf.

Marnie uses tweezers to find a little hiding caterpillar.

The children are creating a special drawing for Kayle's birthday.

Kayle helps to clean the marker stains from the table.

Lia and Hannah challenge themselves with climbing.

Today at circle time we were very hungry caterpillars!

Kayle thought about eating some grapes.

Mendel thought about eating cake.

Then Morah took out a big giant leaf! Yum!

We all had a turn to climb through it!

We crawl like a caterpillar...

Wrap Ella in a cacoon!

And then practice stretching our butterfly wings!

Hannah is getting some good flying practice :)
