WHITE DAY!

Today was white day!
We painted white snowmen!

Mendel put eyes on his snowman.

We then created snow in our sensory tub!

At circle time we sang a song about white:
TTTO: Frere Jacque
I love white, I love white,
Snow is white, snow is white
Polar bears are white,
Clouds are white,
I love white, I love white.

The children proudly show their white items!

Sender uses his white crayon to draw on blue paper.
"I drew a mouth, " he says.

When the Water turned to Ice

The children were curious about what happened to the water that we put in the freezer yesterday...

"It's ice," says Ella

"It's cold," says Mendel.

"I want to touch it," says Hannah, "My finger is cold."

"It can't come out," says Sender.

At circle time we pretended to be soft, wiggly water.
We waved arms and wobbled our bodies.

Then we go into the freezer; we get colder and colder and stiffer until we...freeze!
We are stiff like ice.

Then the sun comes out and we start melting!  Until we are a puddle on the floor!

We go back to the sensory table to see what happens to the ice.

It's shrinking and melting!

And tastes delicious!

Happy Birthday Netanel!

Today we had a birthday party!  Netanel turned 2!
We sang happy birthday to the birthday boy.

Netanel gave out Tzedakah coins.

We danced to Netanel's favorite music.

Netanel received a birthday gift from his friends.

Netanel gave his friends a special birthday treat.

What a lovely birthday party! Thank you all for coming!

Other happenings:
At circle time we talked about how it is cold outside in the winter.
Mendel mentions that it was raining outside.
We wonder what will happen to the water when it get's cold...
The children each placed a pom pom in a cup of water.

Morah then took it to the freezer.
 Keep posted for the results...

Yarn Cutting

Today I placed white yarn hanging over the sensory tub as well as a bucket of scissors.
The children practiced their cutting skills.

Netanel enjoys touching the yarn and places it in the basket.

Ella uses tweezers to maneuver the pom poms.

Hannah stacks the cup cake holders.

Hang Them to Dry

Today we read a story, Three Little Kittens.  We saw how the kittens hung their mittens on the line.

The children enjoyed hanging scarves using pegs.
Squeezing the pegs to open them, is great for strengthening finger muscles!

Kayle hangs the napkins on the line.

"I made!"  "Eyes" says Lia

The children are enjoying creating faces with different shapes.

At Friendship time, we talk about turn taking.

Today's snowman is looking glam.  Ella thinks of getting disposable gloves for mittens.
She carefully puts them on the twig arms.
