Mitzvot Week

Inside the sensory table was placed oatmeal. 'This oatmeal would not be yummy for breakfast it needs to be cooked first!' (Ayelet)

In addition to tools to play with the oatmeal, there were pictures of the Yeladim doing Mitzvot!

Giving Tzedaka is a Mitzvah. Gabey is using coins to press in his goup.

Chayale is 'reading' and telling the Yeladim what is in her 'Mitzvah note.' She helped to soothe her baby sister when she was crying. We got to hear some wonderful things the Yeladim are busy with at home. If you did not have a chance to send in a note please feel free to send one in another day this week! It makes the Yeladim feel so special when we read about something they good they did.

Eden is using material to collage on her picture frame to decorate it. These are going to be special Mitzvah frames!

Swimming!

 Ayelet was washing the baby doll and taking care of it after it took a bath.

 Chayale enjoyed filling and pouring the water from cup to cup and pool to pool. What a great way to strengthen her motor skills.

 Ella was diligently collecting all the floating foam pieces in the pool. It became so interesting that the Yeladim joined her in the small pool to help too!

Swimming!

Swimming is one of those all encompassing sensory experiences which also provides opportunity to practice filling, spilling, pouring, cause and effect and so much more. Its so fun that the Yeladim don't even realize how much they are learning through 'play'!

Outdoor Adventure - Constructive Playtime

Today the Yaldim explored through flowers. Tzemach is concentrating on fitting the flowers into the small slots. 

Yakir and Peretz are using dish brushes to create a circular flower shape with lots of 'flower texture.'
Peretz: "I got red and blue!"

 The Dramatic Play area was hustling and bustling today with great social interaction. At one point the whole class was busy in the kitchen! Some were serving, others preparing and then there were the tasters.

 Ayelet was using one of the jars as 'sun block' and she rubbed some in to all the Yeladim in the kitchen area.

Outdoor/Indoor play

For fear of disappointing the Yeladim we decided not to change for swimming and enjoy the outdoors until it started. Sure enough not too long after we got out the rain started! We were lucky to catch that time though and enjoy some climbing.

We finished off with some fun on the cars and.....

PARACHUTE!

 We played balancing a ball on our parachute and then the Yeladim took turns sitting in the middle while the rest of us sang and waved the parachute. It was lots of fun and wonderful team work.

Outdoor Adventure Week - Constructive Playtime

Ella is using her fine motor skills to add feathers to her play dough to resemble a Bird.

Gabey is enjoying observing the 'cause and effect' through stamping with our insect stamps.

When Ella joined Tzemach and David in the Kitchen area, David immediately ran to the table to pull up a chair for her while calling 'Ella Ella Ella.'

Chaya'le has stayed home since she was not feeling well. The Yeladim looked at her picture and noticed she was not in camp today. We called her and sang her a 'Get Well/Refuah Shilema' song. We hope she feels better and can join us again at camp soon!

Eden is showing her friends the leaf she brought in for Show and Share.

The Yeladim smelled it

LADYBUGS!

In honor of Outdoor Adventure week Ladybugs were brought in for the Yeladim to observe. Prior to letting out our ladybugs the Yeladim looked in the Torah to see how we should treat Hashem's creations. 

 Wondering: The Yeladim wondered out loud together where these Ladybugs might live.
Ayelet: "Pensylvania."
Peretz: 'In der house.'

 It was time to take them out to watch them. When we let them go Ayelet said "This is their habitat!"
Tzemach said 'Bee! ' (some lady bugs started flying away.)

Eden bravely picked up the bag and shook them out.

Gabey followed the ladybugs both intensely and excitedly all while we were outside.
