Megillah

To introduce the Purim story, a megillah was shown to the Yeladim.
They were curious about what was inside the megillah. 

The megillah tells about the city of Shushan. It had a big wall around it and people entered and exited the city through the gates. 

Mordechai lived in Shushan. He was the leader of the Jewish people and he loved every Jew.He had Ahavat Yisroel. 

If someone would come to Mordechai and say  "I am very hungry and I do not have money to buy food." Mordecahi would give them money from the tzedokah box to buy food. That's a mitzvah.

If someone would come to Mordechai and say "Please help me learn Torah." Mordechai would help them because he was a leader and he had Ahavat Yisroel for every Jew. 

If someone would come to Mordechai and say " I feel so sad." Mordechai would try to help them feel better because he was a leader and he had Ahavat Yisroel for every Jew. 

What happens when you blow a whistle

Zalman brought a whistle to school today. His friends were
 very curious about it and Zalman gave them all a turn.
When the Yeladim blew the whistle it made a sound. 

The Yeladim loved blowing the whistle so much that it was brought out to the playground so they can blow it some more. 

At lunch time, the Yeladim discussed the whistle. They thought of other things
that make sound too.

Zalman: " A drum makes a sound. When you bang it with sticks. "

Teacher: " The drum makes sounds when you tap it and the whistle makes a sound when it's blown."

Zalman: "Yeah, a big drum, for Tattys."

Benjamin: "I want a small drum for children."

Planting

The Yeladim noticed the growth of the sprout of the lima bean.
One of the seeds were squashed, it did not sprout.
 


They filled a planter with soil and covered then covered the seed with some soil. 

They will continue to watch and care for the seed. 

The Mitzvah of Tzedokah

When the Yeladim put their coin in the tzedokah box, they noticed that they were having a hard time fitting the coins in. 

They opened the tzedokah box. It was completely filled with coins and dollars. 

Where does the money in the tzedokah box go?

The Yeladim brought the tzedokah box to Rabbi Kaplan. If someone will come to Rabbi Kaplan and say "I am very hungry and I do not have money to buy food." Rabbi Kaplan can give them money from the tzedokah box to buy food. That's a mitzvah.

If someone comes to Rabbi and says "I am cold and I do not have money to buy a coat." The Rabbi can give them money from the tzedokah box to buy a coat. That's a mitzvah.

If someone will come and say "I am so lonely." The Rabbi can give them money to buy a book or some music. That's  a mitzvah.

Update of our Lima Beans

Something happened to our beans. The Yeldim take note of the change. 

Music and Movement

The Yeladim enjoyed making music with instruments. First they they shook
their instruments quickly and then really slowly. 

The Yeladim did a dance with fruits and vegetables.
