A Big Welcome to our Caterpillars!

Today we welcome some new friends to our classroom...5 hungry, live caterpillars!

Sender says, "It's a big fat one"

"It's eating food", says Hannah  "I eat my lunch".

The children watch with fascination.

Other happenings:
Today the children stamped with heart cutters and white paint.

Most have mastered the skill of stamping and creating a defined shape on the page.

Our sensory bin is filled with soil, seeds, flowers and planters.

The children shovel the soil and plant seeds.

Marnie plants flowers.

Ella sorts colors with our rainbow color drop.

Daniella and Hannah join in and play together.

"I made a triangle!"  says Mendel.

We went out to look for caterpillars on our walk today.

We found leaves with holes in them, but no caterpillars.

We enacted the story of the very hungry caterpillar.
Here Daniella is helping the tiny caterpillar eat an orange.

Mendel wraps the big fat caterpillar in a cocoon.
