Chopping Carrots

We had carrots for snack today. 

Hilary and Yakir chopped a piece of carrot with the (child safe) choppers. 

Purim Memories

The Yeladim had a lot to share with their friends about their costumes and

 how they celebrated Purim.

Benjamin: " I was a dinosaur."
Hilary spun her hand around indicating a shaking gragger.
Zalman: "I had a baseball player costume and my Tatty read the megillah and I shaked my gragger."

After we discussed how we celebrated Purim, we spoke about how Purim is over until next year. The Yeladim packed away the Purim related items in the classroom.

Zalman put away the Purim books. 

Peretz put away King Achashveirosh's crown

Goodbye Purim

The Yeladim shared what they dressed up as on Purim and how they spent their Purim.
Then they said goodbye to all the Purim characters and packed them away until next year.

Tzitzit

Zalman came to school wearing a kippah and tzitzit.
He said "It's because I had a upsherin."

He made the brocha on his tzitzit

and gave his friends a turn to kiss it. 

Moon Sand

Our sensory table is filled with moon sand.
What an interesting texture for the Yeladim to explore.

Hamantash Making

The Yeladim made Hamantashin at school today. The step by step nature of following a recipe helps build children's comprehension and reasoning skills. 




Benjamin is poured in the flour.
Zalman practiced patience as he waited for his turn.

Hilary mixed the dough, refining her grip.

As Peretz patted the dough to flatten it, he build strength in his shoulder.

After the Yeladim shaped circles out of the dough, Zalman squeezed jelly.
As he squeezed the muscles in his fingers were strengthened. 

The Yeladim pinched the edges of their hamantashin. 

Delivering Mishloach Manot

The Yeladim packaged mishloach manot to deliver.



Peretz and Zalman decorated the bags with stickers. 

Yakir put an orange into the bags.

Peretz and Hilary gave David the mishloach manot. 

After singing Purim songs for David and Dorothy, the Yeladim say goodbye.
