Triangles

Today Yakir's Abba talked about triangles in his lunch letter.
The children bring magnatiles to the table and try to copy the triangle that Yakir's Abba drew.

Morah shows the children how to do it.
 Peretz keeps trying...
...and feels accomplished with his success.

We borrow more triangles from the other class to create a larger triangle.

Ramps and Race Cars

This morning we brought a large ramp into our classroom.
The children enjoyed setting the cars on track to reach the end of the ramp.
We noticed that changing the angle of the ramp, effected the speed of the cars.

Thank you to the Kavka family for the delicious snack this week!

Queen Esther Bracelets

Today we had a fantastic fine motor activity, beading cheerios onto pipe cleaners.  The children enjoyed creating bracelets for Queen Esther as well as snacking on them along the way!

Purim Superheros

Today we said hi to the Purim Superheros;
Queen Esther, Mordechai. King Achashverosh and Haman.
We talked about the positive character traits of Queen Esther, especially the ones we are currently cultivating in our classroom.  Namely, taking turns, sharing and caring.
When faced with a challenging moment we ask, "What would queen Esther do?"
This helps the children think of great solutions.
We also spoke of Mordechai's leadership qualities of caring about people.
We talked about Kings and Queens living in a palace.
Haman wants everyone to bow down to him.
